Niobium is a gray and ductile metal, very similar to tantalum. It’s extracted from an ore called coltan (columbite and tantalite composed). The columbite – compound niobium oxide, iron and manganese [(Fe, Mn) Nb2O6]- 98% of its reserves are in the state of Amazonas and Roraima.   The Oreization of Ta an Nb economically most valuable and important are the tantalite – compound niobium oxide, iron and manganese [(Fe, Mn) Nb2O6]-. They have a high melting point and withstand exceptionally high temperatures, 3017° C and 2468° C respectively. The heat resistence of Ta is twice the iron and is exceeded only by tungsten and rhenium; accordingly, the Ta and Nb have the potential to be used in high temperature resistant applications. Even, tantalum carbide (TaC) supports 3880°C and further has hardness similar to diamond.   Nb and Ta are well known and no exists any mystery about them; appear bright gray color tending to turn blue when comes into contact with air; both belong to the goup of transition metals, have high density and weight, good ductility, are resistant to corrosion and superb thermal and electrical conductors. Thanks to its exceptional propierties, are currently used in the manufacture of high-tech components and super-strong metallurgical alloys.

  • Kindly send an email to with the product you want to buy including specifications (chemical and physical) and quantities along with the data of your company.
  • Within a maximum of 5 working days we will reply to your request with the purchase contract. The contract is prepared in accordance with international standards where we will indicate the price, specifications, loading port. The payment term is L/C 100 % at loading port. If we can not supply the product we will tell you in 3 days.
  • Within a maximum of 5 working days should send the contract, filled, signed and sealed by the buyer. Any comment to this contract shall be settled during that workweek.
  • Within 5 working days we will return the contract signed and sealed by us. The electronic copy will be deemed legal contract.
  • BUYER issues DLC with 10(ten) banking days.
  • Shipments start as agreed within 60 days after the financial instrument from the BUYER is opened. ALL RISKS WILL BE TRANSFERRED FROM SELLER TO BUYER UPON LOADING THE MATERIAL INTO VESSEL AS PER INCOTERMS.
